HC Deb 02 May 1980 vol 983 c710W
Mr. Hardy

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when the Wildlife and Countryside Bill will be presented; and if he intends to improve the protection afforded to rural environment in respect of preservation of hedgerow trees and hedgerows within the proposed legislation.

Mr. Monro

It remains the intention of my right hon. Friend to introduce the Bill as soon as parliamentary time permits.

I am satisfied that the protection given by the provisions of the current tree preservation order legislation is adequate.
