§ Dr. Roger Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if, in view of the proposal by one outer London area health authority to extend certain complex medical procedures hitherto carried out by trained medical staff, he will consider the need for a national policy, under the control of his Department, rather than leaving such matters to individual area health authorities in the light of the considerable medico-legal complications that such a policy might cause.
