§ Mr. Brittan[pursuant to his reply, 13 March 1980, c. 651]: The longest period for which any person held on remand in custody in Brixton prison on 31 January 1980 had been so held was 566 days. The man concerned had been charged with conspiracy to rob and unlawful possession of an offensive weapon.
