§ Mr. Rentonasked the Secretary of State for Trade what is the minimum interval between aircraft movements required at international airports for aircraft designed to carry (a) up to 200 passengers (b) up to 300 passengers and (c) up to 400 passengers.
§ Mr. Tebbit[pursuant to his reply, 21 March 1980, c. 356]: The minimum separations between arriving and departing aircraft are determined by the International Civil Aviation Organisation. 403W There is a minimum two-minute interval between aircraft of all weights taking off from the same point. Landing intervals depend on the weight and sequence of the aircraft, owing to vortex effects. Light and medium aircraft carry up to 200 passengers and heavy aircraft 200 or more. The minimum landing interval is one and a half minutes, except in the following cases:
