§ Mr. Nicholas Bakerasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will take steps to assist housing associations whose development schemes are held up by the fact that existing legislation affecting grant input is defective and that approval of such schemes under section 29 of the Housing Act 1974 is not being given.
§ Mr. StanleyThe legal doubts referred to will be resolved in the Housing Bill before Parliament. In the meantime, officials will consider individual schemes and advise associations on the steps that can be taken until approvals can be resumed.
