§ Dr. Roger Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will bring forward proposals for a scheme of medical identity cards for special groups of people afflicted with conditions for the treatment of which the availability of essential medical information would at times of emergency be advantageous.
§ Dr. VaughanCertain groups of people particularly at risk in emergencies, such as diabetics, epileptics, haemophiliacs and those on steroids or anti-coagulant drugs, are already provided with medical identity documents under the NHS or by voluntary associations. I am not aware of any shortcomings in these arrangements.
