§ Mr. LawsonThe sterling/Canadian dollar exchange rate rose 63 per cent. between October 1976 and 29 February 1980, from 1.59 to 2.60. Between October 1976 and January 1980, the latest date for which figures are available, wholesale prices rose 50 per cent. in Canada and 52 per cent. in the United Kingdom.
