HC Deb 19 March 1980 vol 981 c241W
Mr. Ancram

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether there has been any change in the last two years in the projections of demand for electricity in the South of Scotland Electricity Board area for the next 20 years; and, if so, in what respect.

Mr. Alexander Fletcher

The Scottish electricity boards have over the last two years reduced their estimates of future demand for electricity in line with changing assumptions about the prospects for national economic growth, and are at present carrying out a further review of their estimates in the light of the latest economic forecasts.
