§ Mr. John Mackayasked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he expects to announce the results of his examination of the structure of Government assistance to sea transport to the Scottish islands.
§ Mr. YoungerI have published a consultative paper making known the conclusions of my review. Copies of the consultative paper, which I have had placed in the Libraries of both Houses, have been sent to all Scottish Members and interested authorities and organisations, and further copies are obtainable from the Scottish Office. I sincerely hope that the paper will be widely read and given the serious consideration which a matter of such importance to the Highlands and Islands deserves.
