HL Deb 18 March 1980 vol 407 c206WA
Lord INGLEWOOD

asked the Leader of the House:

Whether he is aware that two security officers and one police constable on duty at the search point and St. Stephen's entrance on 8th February, heavily outnumbered until reinforcements arrived in answer to their radio, were successful in preventing a crowd intent on forcing a way into the Palace of Westminster from doing so; and whether he will congratulate them.

Earl FERRERS

I am aware of this incident. I am sure the whole House is grateful to the officers concerned for their prompt and resolute action.
