§ Sir George YoungIncome during the financial year 1978–79 was £1.5 million in England and Wales. The cost of collection is not known; however, in 1977 the Association of Health Service Treasurers estimated that it was some £0.6 million per annum in England—income then was £1.3 million. The contribution to income made by the emergency treatment fee is not available from information held centrally.
