§ Mr. ChannonWhere the end use of the paper and the time available for manufacture permit, all new contracts for the supply of paper provide for the use of recycled fibre. Opportunity has also been taken to agree amendments to some existing contracts. Currently papers manufactured in this country for HMSO contain overall about 10 per cent. recycled fibre.

§ Mr. ChannonWhere the inclusion of recycled waste is a practicable proposition, all new HMSO contracts specify that as much waste as possible should be included in paper subject to there being no detriment to the essential quality. In general, the percentage of waste is taken into account in the award of contracts.
