HC Deb 14 March 1980 vol 980 c761W
Mr. Latham

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will make a statement on the progress in implementing the recommendations of the review of procedures in the Development Land Tax Office.

Mr. Peter Rees

[pursuant to his reply, 10 March 1980, Vol. 980, c. 448]: Some of the recommendations of the review became out of date when the threshold for the tax was raised in the last Finance Act. To the extent that the recommendations are still valid, they are being implemented, together with other procedural changes designed to take advantage of the increase in the exemption limit.

Those recommendations being implemented include more selective and informative reporting of disposals by district valuers; earlier recognition of non-liable disposals; more efficient deployment of DLT Office staff.
