asked the Prime Minister how many non-departmental public bodies have been abolished and with what savings in personnel and money since her reply to the hon. Member for Carlton (Mr. Holland) Official Report, 16 January, column 736.

Thirty-seven non-departmental public bodies have been abolished since 16 January. None of these employed staff though there will be reductions in the need for staff support by the sponsor Departments. The financial savings arising from these abolitions is estimated at £235,000 in a full year.
