§ Mr. Peter Robinsonasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will give the date when police first made investigations into allegations of homosexuality at an East Belfast boys' home; and if he will give an assurance that the boys in that home are in no danger while he waits for police investigations to be completed into the present allegations of child prostitution.
§ Mr. Alison[pursuant to his reply, 10 March 1980, c. 477]: Since the police had received no allegations of any homosexual practices at an earlier date, their investigations began, as I said in my answer on 27 February, after they first became aware of allegations of child prostitution at the East Belfast boys' home on 24 693W January. Investigations are continuing, and in the meantime I am satisfied that the Eastern Health and Social Services board has taken adequate steps to safeguard the interests and welfare of the boys in the home.
