§ Mr. Patrick JenkinThe Department, with the assistance of an editorial advisory group representing professional and lay interests, has for some time been considering how a revision of the booklet should be undertaken. The Standing Medical and Standing Nursing and Midwifery Advisory Committees have recently endorsed the group's recommendation that professional bodies be invited to take over authorship of the booklet in order to ensure that its guidance is acceptable to professional workers. A subsequent offer from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists to consider, with the other relevant professional bodies concerned, how such guidance can best be given, has been gratefully accepted.
