§ Mr. Denzil Daviesasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his latest estimate of the total budgetary contribution of the United Kingdom to the European Economic Community in (a) the calendar year 1980 and (b) the financial year 1980–81.
§ Sir Geoffrey HoweI understand that the European Commission may shortly make available revised estimates of net contributions to the 1980 Community budget of member States, including the United Kingdom. Our own estimates of the United Kingdom net contribution in the calendar year 1980 and in the financial 571W year 1980–81 will appear in the forthcoming public expenditure White Paper. The public expenditure White Paper estimates will at this stage make no allowance for the outcome of present negotiations on our net budgetary contribution and I assume that this will be true of the estimates to be provided by the European Commission also.
