HC Deb 11 March 1980 vol 980 c514W
Mr. Robert Atkins

asked the Minister for the Civil Service whether he has been able to reduce the advertising costs of the Central Office of Information.

Mr. Channon

A new system of remunerating advertising agencies to replace the long-standing commission system has been introduced by COI and will operate from 1 April 1980. This will be one of a series of economies which have enabled the COI to reduce their advertising costs in 1979 by 10.2 per cent.—a saving of over £2 million.
