HC Deb 10 March 1980 vol 980 c456W
Mr. Meacher

asked the Minister of Transport, pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Oldham, West on 15 February concerning tests of seat belts, whether Britax was one of the brands tested in report 811 or 882; what other brands were tested; and when he expects to complete his evaluation of the recent accident.

Mr. Fowler

The Transport and Road Research Laboratory report No. 811 was not concerned with particular types of belt. Belts referred to in report No. 882 are the Britax Autolok Mk III and IIIA, the Britax Surelok, the Kangol Reflex, the Kangol Euroflex, and the Kangol Series 12.

It is hoped to complete in two months evaluation of the implications of the accident at Leamington on 9 October last year in which a seat belt became disengaged.
