asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster how many years' reckonable service is required for an hon. Member to acquire a full pension; and what proportion the pension would be of final salary.

Mr. St. John-Stevas

40 years and two-thirds. Part of the pension may be commuted into a lump sum up to a maximum of 3/80 of pensionable salary for each year of reckonable service.
