§ Mr. Skeetasked the Minister of Transport whether, in order to prevent accidents at the junction of the A600, A603 and A5134 at Harrowden, Eastcotts and Cambridge Roads, Bedford, he will authorise the construction of a roundabout and, if so, when it is anticipated the work will be undertaken.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeBedfordshire county council is the highway authority for the roads which form the junction in question. Authorisation of a scheme to improve the junction and determination of its place in the county highways programme454W are matters for the county council to decide.
I understand, however, that the county council has prepared a scheme for the construction of a roundabout and plans to start work during the coming financial year, subject to land availability.
