asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he is satisfied with progress in energy conservation.

Mr. John Moore

We are undoubtedly making progress. Total primary energy consumption in the last quarter of 1979 was marginally lower than a year ago, and consumption of petroleum products fell by 5 per cent. I expect to see even greater progress in future now that we have placed price realism at the centre of our policies.
