HC Deb 10 March 1980 vol 980 cc399-400W
Mr. Ancram

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what his forecast is for electricity demand in the South of Scotland Electricity Board area by the year 2000.

Mr. Alexander Fletcher

The forecasting of electricity demand is the responsibility in the first instance of the Scottish electricity boards, which are at present revising their load forecasts for the purposes of the annual review of their investment and financing plans. For the forecasts underlying the boards' current capital investment programmes, I refer my hon. Friend to the answer which I gave to the hon. Member for Dunbartonshire, East (Mr. Hogg) on 14 November.—[Vol. 973, c.632–3.]
