HL Deb 06 March 1980 vol 406 c535WA
Lord AV EBURY

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they have yet received the report of Sir Henry Yellowlees on the role of the port medical officers in relation to immigration control and the use of medical techniques for that purpose: when they expect to announce the conclusions of that review, and whether they have yet reached a decision on whether the report will be published.

The PARLIAMENTARY UNDERSECRETARY of STATE, HOME OFFICE (Lord Belstead)

A visit to study at first hand the practice at posts in the Indian sub-continent has been completed and I understand that Sir Henry Yellowlees is considering the results. My right honourable friend will announce the conclusions of the review as soon as he can. It is too soon to say whether a report will be published.
