HC Deb 06 March 1980 vol 980 cc328-9W
Mr. John Garrett

asked the Lord Privy Seal if he will make a statement on the consultations undertaken by his Department concerning the appointment of a Chilean consul in Norwich.

Mr. Luce

The Chilean Government sought the approval of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to the opening of a new consulate in Norwich, to be staffed by an honorary consul.

As is customary on these occasions, the views of the local authorities have been obtained, and the matter is still under consideration.
