§ Mr. Jim LesterI am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that at 1979 survey prices the 1978–79 expenditure and financial provisions for 1979–80 to 1983–84 for the Training Services Division are as follows:
(£m) 1978–79 304.9 1979–80 294.8 1980–81 296.3 1981–82 281.0 1982–83 280.8 1983–84 278.2 The Manpower Services Commission has been asked to make a further £30 million reduction in its provisions for the years from 1981–82 onwards. I have not yet heard how far this reduction will affect the provisions for the Training Services Division. All forecasts of public expenditure are of course subject to future assessments by the Government of the resources available at the time.
