asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer on what basis it was estimated that the winding-up of the Wilson committee of inquiry into the financial institutions when it had completed its work would save the £67,000 stated in the "Report on Non-departmental Public Bodies", Cmnd. 7797.

Mr. Lawson

The figure of £67,000 was an estimate at 1979 prices of the ex- penses and support costs of the committee in a full year.
