HL Deb 04 March 1980 vol 406 c248WA
Lord O'HAGAN

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What effects the French Loi d'Orientation Agricole will have on:

  1. (1) French Agricultural Exports to other Member States of the EEC;
  2. (2) French Agricultural Exports to the United Kingdom;
  3. (3) Agricultural surpluses in the EEC.

The MINISTER of STATE, MINISTRY of AGRICULTURE, FISHERIES and FOOD (Earl Ferrers)

The draft Loi d'Orientation Agricole will provide a framework for future agricultural development. The effect on French agriculture and exports will depend on the measures adopted to implement it. Such measures would need to be compatible with the State aids provisions of the Treaty of Rome

House adjourned at twenty-two minutes before eight o'clock.
