§ Mr. Alexander FletcherThe Government assist sport in Scotland through the Scottish Sports Council whose grant in aid for 1978–79 and 1979–80 was £2 .5 million and £2.8 million respectively. Details of expenditure on sport by local authorities could only be obtained at disproportionate cost.
