HC Deb 04 March 1980 vol 980 cc179-80W
Mr. David Price

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many physically disabled children were attending special schools in each of the last 10 years in Northern Ireland.

Mr. Goodhart

The information is as follows:

1970 249
1971 268
1972 255
1973 267
1974 271
1975 290
1976 306
1977 303
1978 312
1979 316

The figures relate to the number of children attending special schools for the physically handicapped. They do not include physically handicapped children who, because of other handicaps, were attending other special schools. These figures could not be obtained except at disproportionate cost.
