§ Mr. Peter WalkerFor the years 1 April to 31 March 1977–78 and 1978–79 the numbers of employees recruited on a permanent basis who left the Department were 1,744 and 2,535 respectively. If casual and seasonal workers, and other persons appointed for a limited period only, are included, the numbers leaving the Department were 2,711 and 3,672 respectively.
