§ Mr. Michael RobertsThe initial grant-in-aid to the Sports Council for Wales in 1978–79 was £1,480,000. This was increased from additional resources which became available during the year to £2,349,000. In 1979–80 the allocation is £1,825,000. Information on the total of public expenditure on sport in Wales is not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost. Local authorities incur substantial expenditure on sport and recreation and a number of Government-funded agencies also contribute.
