asked the Minister of Transport when he expects to reach a decision about the provision of financial support for (a) the new rail tunnel at Woolwich linking the North London line with the North Kent line and (b) the extension of the Jubilee line to Thames-mead.

In the summer, when the examination of all the options for public transport in docklands, commissioned by the leader of the GLC and myself, is further advanced. Decisions will have to be taken in the context of the resources available for both roads and passenger transport.
