§ Mr. Kilfedderasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he will review the working of the Commissioner
76W1979, the latest date for which comprehensive information is available, 178 companies had been offered such assistance and 156 of them were still in production employing about 40,000 people, but it is not possible to say how many of those jobs were dependent upon the assistance.
The following schemes in the agricultural sector also help to maintain employment:
- The Meat Industry Employment Scheme.
- The Eggs (Feed Price Allowance) Scheme.
- The Poultry (Feed Price Allowance) Scheme.
- The Milk Aid Scheme.
However, it is impossible to say how many of the 18,500 jobs in these four industries would be lost without Government aid.
