§ Mr. John Carlisleasked the Secretary of State for Social Services why the claim of Mr. E. J. Charles of 21 St. Monica's Avenue, Luton for mobility allowance, approved by his Department in Black-pool, has now been delayed; and when he expects the benefit to be paid.
§ Mr. PrenticeClaims to mobility allowance are decided by independent statutory authorities. The decision in Mr. Charles' case was given on 24 June and an award was made from the date of the claim. An order book for payment from 30 July was sent to him on the same day and a Girocheque for the arrears was despatched yesterday.
