§ Mr. Foulkesasked the Lord Privy Seal whether Her Majesty's Government support the Council of Europe's proposal set out in paragraph 12a of recommendation 282W 892 that there should be more discussion of appropriate United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation activities through the Council of Europe's committees of governmental experts.
§ Sir Ian GilmourParliamentary Assembly recommendation 892 has yet to be considered by permanent representatives to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. The British Government, however, support the proposal that there should be more regular discussion in the Council of Europe of the activities of international organisations such as UNESCO particularly when, as in the field of human rights, the Council has a wealth of valuable experience to call on.
