§ Mr. Bob Dunnasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the ratio of teaching to non-teaching staff in each of the local education authorities in Scotland.
§ Mr. Alexander FletcherInformation about the number of non-teaching staff employed by the education department of each local authority in Scotland is not available centrally. In March 1980, however, the total number of lecturers and teachers was 65,453 and the number of "other staff" employed in education was 42,430—both figures full-time equivalent. The latter figure covers grades ranging from full-time senior administrative staff to part-time staff such as school crossing patrols.
