HC Deb 24 June 1980 vol 987 cc78-9W
18. Mr. Maclennan

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will indicate the Government's response to the proposals contained in the Central Policy Review Staff report on training for industry.

Mr. Prior

The Government welcome the CPRS report "Education, Training and Industrial Performance" as an important contribution to the debate about the future of our education and training system. So far as industrial training is concerned, we shall take the report's analysis into account when considering the report on the training provisions of the Employment and Training Act 1973. This is due in July from the review body established by the Manpower Services Commission.
