§ Miss Richardsonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what action his Department has taken since 3 May 1979 on any recommendation of the Finer committee for which it is wholly or partly responsible.
§ Mr. BrittanSubstantial progress has been made towards implementing the Domestic Proceedings and Magistrates' Courts Act 1978, which will carry into effect many of the reforms proposed by recommendation 41 in the report. Recommendations 53 and 225 (which is already part implemented) have been further discussed, but resources do not at present permit improvements to be made.
