§ Mr. Austin Mitchellasked the Secretary of State for Industry (1) what has been the annual increase in the value of work in progress in manufacturing industry each year since 1948 in terms of 1975 prices;
(2) what has been the annual increase in the value of stocks of finished goods in manufacturing each year since 1948 in terms of 1975 prices;
(3) what has been the annual increase in the value of materials and fuel used in manufacturing industry each year since 1948 in terms of 1975 prices.
§ Mr. David Mitchell1955 is the first year for which the values of physical stock changes at 1975 prices for manufacturing industry are available. The data for 1955 to 1978 are given in theEconomic Trends Annual Supplement, 1980 edition (page 67) and for 1979 in British 137W Business, published on 30 May 1980 (table 2 on page 62).
