§ Mr, S. C. Silkinasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what steps have been taken to ensure that the replies of local offices to inquiries concerning pension entitlement are accurate and up-to-date, in the light of the experience gained from a recent case investigated by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration, and reported upon by him on 11 June.
§ Mrs. ChalkerLocal office procedure for dealing with these inquiries is being reviewed, so that difficulties such as those which arose in the case referred to by the right hon. and learned Gentleman can be avoided in future.
