asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what will be the effect of his recent agreement in the Council of Agricultural Ministers of the European Community upon the income of United Kingdom pig producers through 1980–81.

By means of three devaluations of the green pound in the past year the Government took action to deal with the main problem confronting the United Kingdom pig industry in advance of the recent agreement. The effects, in the pig sector, of the recent agreement are likely to be small.
