HC Deb 19 June 1980 vol 986 cc638-9W
Mrs. Renée Short

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Wolverhampton, North-East on 13 June, if he will set up a full inquiry in order to establish the up-to-date position as to how much it would cost to bring hospitals, buildings and equipment up to standard;

(2) how many people were employed in hospital works departments in each year since 1970; and how many extra staff would need to be employed now to bring these departments up to their full staffing complement.

Dr. Vaughan

I shall let the hon. Member have a reply as soon as possible.
