HC Deb 19 June 1980 vol 986 c640W
Mr. Skinner

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make provision for more centres for the education of deaf children in the county of Derbyshire.

Dr. Boyson

I have been asked to reply.

The provision of special educational treatment for handicapped children is the responsibility of the local education authority concerned. However, I am advised that in general the Derbyshire local authority finds little difficulty in obtaining appropriate places for deaf children in their area.
