HC Deb 18 June 1980 vol 986 c551W
Mr. J. Enoch Powell

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he has any further statement to make on the retention of the medical records of persons who have gone abroad.

Mr. Alison

The medical records of patients which have been compiled by general medical practitioners are retained for a minimum period of three years after a person leaves Northern Ireland, not two years as mentioned in my earlier reply to the right hon. Gentleman.—[Vol. 984, c. 614.]—This period is not under review.
