§ Mr. Eldon Griffithsasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will ensure that the police are informed when potentially dangerous patients are released from Broadmoor and similar hospitals.
§ Mr. Patrick JenkinAs I said in my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Plymouth, Drake (Miss Fookes) on 4 June—[Vol. 985, c.696–98]—I am urgently considering the lessons to be learnt from the recent case of Ronald Sailes and this will include consideration of whether police and other agencies should always be alerted to the presence in their area of a patient on leave from a special hospital.
