§ Mr. Rathboneasked the Secretary of State for Employment if, in view of the adverse effect on the retention and recruitment of nuclear inspectors of the dispersal of the London section of the Nuclear Installations Inspectorate to Mer-seyside, he will reconsider this proposal.
§ Mr. MayhewAfter consultation with all the bodies concerned and in the light of advice from the Health and Safety Commission, the Government concluded that it would not be essential to retain the Nuclear Installations Inspectorate (NII) in London. However, in order to reduce any staffing and organisational problems, the commission has agreed that no nuclear inspector presently working in London will be required to move to Merseyside earlier than 1985.
