HC Deb 12 June 1980 vol 986 c301W
Mr. Skinner

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will now introduce legislation prohibiting all British subsidiaries of multinational companies from selling arms and arms technology to South Africa.

Sir Ian Gilmour

I have been asked to reply.

The United Kingdom has already taken the legislative measures necessary to enable it to carry out fully its obligations arising from the United Nations mandatory arms embargo. All member States of the United Nations are subject to the same obligations with regard to the prohibition of the export of arms and arms technology from their territory to South Africa.
