§ Mr. Ancramasked the Secretary of State for Energy what research is being undertaken by his Department into the feasibility of providing electricity by wind power in some of the Scottish islands.
§ Mr. John MooreMy Department is funding a research programme aimed at 233W establishing the feasibility of utilising wind energy in the United Kingdom and quantifying the size and distribution of this potential source of energy. The provision of electricity on the Scottish islands is a matter for the North of Scotland Hydro-Electricity Board. Staff of this board are involved in the consideration of the research programme on wind energy being undertaken by my Department.
