§ 21. Mr. Montgomeryasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what measures have been taken at the colleges of education to improve the teaching of reading for young children since the Bullock report was published.
§ Dr. Boyson: Evidence available through Her Majesty's Inspectorate suggests that the great majority of teacher training institutions have taken the Bullock report very seriously indeed. The teaching of 110W language, including reading, now forms a substantial element in the training of primary school teachers.
